So xkcd was right once again?Though interestingly, I saw a study last year which found that standing desks aren't necessarily that much more healthy to use than sitting ones. That's not to say they're bad, or that they might not have advantages for, e.g., posture, just that they may not be quite as automatically better than sitting desks as they've generally been touted. It seems that being sedentary for long periods – sitting or standing – may be the main unhealthy bit; it doesn't matter too much how you do it.
