Rerun of No. 2577 - Who could possibly steal a time machine in the Jurassic era?

This strip reminded me of Gerald Durrell's novel The Fantastic Dinosaur Adventure. In that book, the inventor Lancelot builds a time machine. The bad guys beat him up and steal his time machine. They then travel back to the Triassic then the Jurassic era. Lancelot builds a second time machine and pursued the bad guys into the past, and takes his teenage nephews with himself. The bad guys kidnap two boys then immediately travel further back to the Cretaceous age. Then they learn from the boys that they made a mistake when stealing the time machine: they don't have the part that allows them to travel forwards, so now they're stuck in the past. So when Lancelot follows them, they try to steal his more capable time machine.

The Mythbusters are right though. As far as I know, nobody ever tried to steal a time machine in the Jurassic era.
