YOUR OPINION IS UNIMPORTANT • Re: Irregular Fantasy!

My team really appreciates your critiques! The praise and the ugly truths. I won't fight you on the negatives, except maybe calling the story "edgy", that's a bit of an uncharitable interpretation of anything really, and I feel it's far from the truth. I know what you meant, though. As for Alvissa, well, figuring out what she's like without him is kind of her first upcoming character arc, so you're on the right wavelength.

You're the second person to say B.A. Batrachos has potential to appear in the comic, and as the first person to say that was DMM himself, I'm definitely ultra-hopeful that somehow, amid everything else going on in his life, he will in fact get his hands on a Mr. T minifigure and work the frog-dealer somewhere into his long-reaching comic plans, because that would be... supremely awesome.

And isn't it always proven true, how readers are guaranteed to latch on to the thing the author cares about the least. He was the absolute last detail added to the pilot, because I needed a frog-dealer. Conceived of him when I skimmed the comic for the Ancient Greek word for frog that comes up now and then, and made the obvious connection. And then realized I didn't know squat about Mr. T so needed a ton of help figuring out what the heck he should act like. Yeah, this whole thing would sure be worthwhile if we got a "canon immigrant" out of it. Heck yeah. He definitely won't be a one-shot character, I'll bring him back a time or two. But of all the original characters, you know? Nobody's all hyped about the return of Ted, lol.

Another allusion to Steve & Terry, other than the green-bellied green frogs, is the mention of a "charity collector guy"; I've tried to work every single character from the comic into the story's universe in some fashion, but I really thought the Charity Collector Guy was one I just plain couldn't work with, so, I was glad when writing the pilot that I at least found a way to say his name.
