It always surprises me when people comment about watch batteries dying.
They must buy fancier watches that I do, or maybe use the light a lot more often. I've rarely had a cheap digital watch last long enough to need to replace the original battery, and have had one with the band broken off sitting in my desk drawer for at least the last 10 years that is still showing the correct time (well OK, not exactly right now, it's an hour off now that we've come off DST last week, and I probably haven't reset it in years either).
