Episode 2559: The Shipping Olds
Hm, the "shortens your lifespan" cost. I usually have a problem with this setup in stories, because it tends to be meaningless in the end. Being a bit vague:
Edward Elric did it once, he said "this will probably take like 5 years off my lifespan", but he was very young at the time, he didn't visibly age, and the story does not follow him into old age, so who knows what it means in the end. It feels like a freebie.
Kurapika is a similar idea. In his case, he got immediate pain, and he's wary of cumulative effects, but he also didn't age visibly, so it's not clear if the shortened lifespan will mean anything. (Unless he ends up shortening it enough to kill him on the spot, which I doubt.)
Ahaha, you caught me off-guard with that pun, I'm not used to anything even remotely "spicy" in this comic. (I'm fine with the tone, though.)I’m getting too old for this ship.
