One thing I noticed about the last several movies is that it must be hard to recapture the spontaneity of the Episode I strips when the source material is actually about something. The movies have a clear beginning, middle, and end and the contortions necessary to make the same visuals reach a different beginning, middle, and end have gotten more and more contortiony.
That is not a problem The Rise of Skywalker has.
The GM is feeling a lot more freeform and descriptive, and a lot more "in charge" of the table. It's fun to see. Episode IX is a movie that is very interested in tearing things down and not being anything in particular in their place, so there's a lot of room to make a real story out of it.
